In Fall 2017, Cub Scouts began the New B.S.A. Lion Cub Program designed for Kindergarten age boys. This New program, NOW, allows boys and Girls who are at least 5 years old by September 1st to join Scouts BSA.
Cub Scouting is for Boys and Girls in Kindergarten through fifth grade, or 5 to 10 years of age. A Cub Scout Pack is broken down into Dens with Boys or Girls of similar age group. Boys will be in all Boy Dens, and Girls will be in all Girl Dens. Cub Scouting begins with Kindergarten age Boys and Girls who will be Lion Scouts, 1st graders will be Tiger Scouts, 2nd graders will be Wolf Scouts, 3rd graders Bears and 4th and 5th graders will be Webelos and Arrow of Light.
During the school year, Dens will meet weekly for about 1 hour, where the Scouts will work with their Den Leaders to complete rank achievements. (Lion Cubs will meet once per month in a Den for about 45 minutes, have a monthly outing, and attend several Pack Meetings through out the Scout Year). All ranks will meet together at monthly Pack Meetings, for Pack related meetings, events and activities. All Pack events and activities such as Camp Outs, Fishing Derby and Pinewood Derby Car Races are open to all Pack Scouts, Families and Friends. Lions and Scout siblings will participate in age appropriate activities.
